Fighting With The Post Office

Pat's fighting with the Post Office was a blog-only storyline in July and August 2004.

The story began with Pat being pissed off about all the junk mail that he received. Feeling the postman was encouraging a form of littering by daily delivering junk mail, Pat placed him under citizen's arrest. The postman beat him up. The Post Office then stopped delivering his mail altogether, forcing Pat to resort to UPS, which got rather expensive.

When Pat complained to the police, the officer laughed at him. Pat tried to place him under citizens arrest. The cop called for backup, and Pat ended up in the back of a cruiser while the cop and his backup went out for pizza. Pat began looking for a lawyer to take up his lawsuits against the post office and the police department.

In August, Pat needed to send a package via Registered Mail. The clerk, Robert, pointed out that Pat had used the wrong kind of tape on his package, and refused to give the proper kind to him. Pat took offense at this, since his regular clerk, Darryl, had no problem doing it. Darryl called Pat over, gave him the tape, and Robert squealed to the postmaster, who came out and reprimanded Darryl in front of everyone.

As of September 2004, Pat's lawsuits never made it to court.
