Hat Week

Hat Week ran from the 4th to the 7th in June 2002.

First it began when Pat got a pork pie hat. Ray and Roast Beef gave him a hard time for it, and went so far as to surprise him in his shower while wearing pork pie hats.

Then everyone else got hats. Teodor got a cowboy hat, Philippe got a mortarboard, and Mr. Bear got a pith helmet. Lyle already had a hat, which was a beanie with a little metal frame instead of a propeller. Stretched within the frame was a piece of material on which was written "Darlene." People mourn in different ways, and Lyle chooses to wear a hat for her.

Hat Week ended with Ray calling Pat and demanding to know if Pat stole his laundry. He suspected Pat did it because he wanted to smell Ray's laundry. Ray was drunk at the time.

The end of Hat Week was not the end of Pat wearing his pork pie hat. He wore it until October 4, 2002, when he returned it, citing deceptive language in The Unique Guy catalogue. NO-ONE likes to see a man in a "Handsome Pork Pie Hat."
